Favorite track: Uskudaren.

about

Album available for one year only (end 25-Sept-2021)

(English version below)

First album under the name of Solah (formerly Jesus is my son) and first album for me purely acoustic.

The album was an invitation made by Diana Duta following a concert in Brussels. Diana had offered me to come and record "something" in her studio Jambes. The recording took place during the heat wave of August 2020.

01/ Uskudaren is a free interpretation of the Turkish song 'Üsküdar'a gideriken,
02/ Blues du dix-quatre-vingts is a bluesy vision of Maqam Bayat.
03/ Gertrude et Alma is an improvisation made that day.
04/ La guêpe is due to a wasp sting on my right wrist the day before the recording. Following the sting, I wondered if I was going to be able to play the next day and this piece came up.
05/ For AdT is a piece written for a friend.
06/ Seuls les faibles désaoulent is a song that wasn't finished when I arrived at the studio. Just before playing it, I decided to play it with a pick instead of with my fingers, which I hadn't done. Then things fell into place while recording the take.
